NEDS Presents – Writing Erotica: Imagining Dominance/submission with Mistress Sky, 13 July 2018

A recent poll of Americans who have seen the movie, 50 Shades of Grey, revealed that 70%, male and female, fantasize about being dominated. I’ll present my own findings in power exchange erotica. I’m always looking for fiction that has excellent relationship dynamics versus poorly presented or unhealthy ways of relating. Bring a pen and pad and we’ll write a brief scene together. Bring a favorite scene from a novel and we’ll analyze it for its healthy (or not so great) D/s (M/s) relationship bones.

Mistress Sky is a lifestyle Domme. In her professional life, she is a relationship coach and an alternative lifestyle counselor. She is the author of many articles and essays plus Unequal Partnership: a dating guide for loving non-egalitarian relationships. Sky has penned many stories, poems, one novella, and a novel. Visit her on Facebook and LinkedIn (gates counseling), at her Medium blog (Aisha-Sky Gates), and at her websites,

NEDS Presents SaraScalper – Coming Out: What? Who? Why? Where? How? – 11 May 2018

Coming Out: What? Who? Why? Where? How?: Everyone knows that “coming out” regarding anything (being LGBTQ+, kinky, non-monogamous, etc.) is difficult and potentially life-changing, but not everyone is aware of the potential consequences of
not “coming out.”

Lifestyle sadist/dominant, kink educator, and mental health professional Sara Scalper will use this class to talk about what “coming out” means, the repercussions of not coming out, and the stresses related to coming out, and will additionally offer tips for coming out and techniques for self-care during the coming out process.

They will also talk about coming out regarding consent violations, as these occur frequently in our community and folks often face similar stresses when choosing whether or not to reveal what has happened to them, as well as similar repercussions when they do not reveal them.

Whether you’re so out of the closet that the door’s locked behind you or you’re in the back of it behind all of the coats, come join us as we discuss something that affects the lives of everyone in the kink community.

My bio:

Sara Scalper is a queer, nonmonogamous non-binary femme and ethical sadist who has been topping since 2002, has been involved in the kink community since 2004, and has been a part of the Boston community since 2010. They self-identify as 75% intersexed being, 20% Amazonian woman, and 5% primal male (these identities are constantly in flux), but are always 100% ethical sadist.

Primarily a physical sadist and impact top, they also get great pleasure from being a ”scene aunt” to newer folks in the scene, teaching them how to top safely (via classes or one-on-one instruction) and/or how to negotiate so they have safe, satisfying scenes.

Sara has taught for NELA at several Fleas and at/for NH Kinky Con, Bound in Boston, Boston Invasions at the Society, Trans Spectrum Kinksters, Paingasms at the Society, MOB, Boston TNG, BKC, and Wicked Women.

They are honored to be teaching at their first NEDS event! They can often be found with their lovely wife and collared submissive, AJ (who often helps them present their classes!), and their extended ”kinky family,” and love to talk ethical nonmonogamy as much as they do BDSM.

NEDS Annual Service/Silent Auction 21 April 2018

Have you ever had a fantasy of being won by the highest bidder? Are you a submissive who has wanted to belong to someone for an evening after being auctioned off the block? Are you a Top that has an amazing skill that you love to exhibit on a bottom? Want to practice this in an open and safe environment with like minded individuals? Now is your chance! NEDS is hosting a Service and Silent Auction as a fundraiser to raise money for the charities chosen AND gives you a chance to get your kink on while giving back to the community. That’s a win win for everyone!

If you’re interested in going up for auction it doesn’t matter how you identify, it’s open to anyone who wishes to go up! If bidding for someone’s time for a scene doesn’t interest you, how about bidding on a handmade crafted kinky item, sexy toy or a piece of art? The community has generously donated items in the past and we will be posting the businesses who have donated very soon!

NEDS Presents BDSM and the Law Part 2 – Annual Member Meeting

March’s Class and Meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites in Waltham, MA.

An open question forum with a Massachusetts Attorney on the intersects of BDSM and the law (this is purposely open ended as the intersects can range from Criminal to divorce and everything in between). While everything has the potential to intersect kink/bdsm with the law, the main areas that seem to come up are: What is consent? What affects someone’s ability to consent?, how does my being kinky affect me: in a divorce, with a paternity action, in a child support/custody matter?, with DCFS? With work? in court?

What do I tell me Doctor about my bruises (routine exams vs emergency)?; What should I tell the police if they want to talk to me about the bruises (or anything else)?, If I tell my doctor ALL about my lifestyle, can anyone else see that? What about my therapist? Can I be committed (psychiatric) for engaging in lifestyle activities? and any other questions you may have, I may not have the answers,to everything, but we can discuss it and have some fun in the process.

Attorney Adam Phipps has practiced in Massachusetts since 2011. Prior to becoming an Attorney Adam worked as a Registered Nurse for more than twenty years (emergency department, ICU, and management). He handles a general civil practice: (Civil rights, Discrimination, mental health litigation, police misconduct, Family law (Divorce, custody, restraining orders), Landlord-Tenant, medical-legal consulting as an expert Registered Nurse. He identifies as non-binary and is comfortable with any pronouns. He considers himself a progressive intellectualist with a love of politics, history and old movies
