NEDS is proud to present Skyla – Non-Monogamy 101 Sept 13

Non-Monogamy 101 – NEDS September 2019 Our culture makes space for one relationship structure – monogamy. As kinksters, we know that there are many different approaches to relationships. This workshop will cover different types of non-monogamy, and specifically focus on polyamory. Topics covered will include: talking to your partner(s) about your needs & desires, health and safety protocols, logistics, being out vs. not being out to family, friends, and co-workers.
Although this workshop is directed at foundational level topics, people of all experiences are welcomed and encouraged to attend – including monogamous folks. Bio: Skyla is your friendly neighborhood mermaid. She has been swimming around these waters since 2012 where she got her start through attending a NEDS class! Skyla went on to become a NEDS board member working as secretary and event coordinator. Skyla continued her passion for community volunteering through working behind the scenes at several large scale kink conventions including: Fusion, Summer Camp, Winter Fire, and Bound in Boston. In 2018, Skyla teamed up Ozma_of_Oz to create new convention; Tethered Together. Tethered Together is a hotel takeover rope-centric convention that is accented with dance, circus, relationship, and kink workshops. The event runs in March each year in Rhode Island. Skyla can be found teaching on a variety topics including polyamory, cosplay, urethral sounding, and rope bondage. Skyla is happily married to a fellow kinkster in a polyamorous marriage that takes a “kitchen table” style approach to relationships. She loves iced coffee, dry humor, and dancing with her leviwand. NEDS is proud to present Wiseguy – Recreational hypnosis is memory play, and why not? – August 9th

Class description:

One of the most often asked-about things in recreational hypnosis is memory play, and why not? It’s hot, watching your partner do things without remembering doing them. Or suddenly being unable to remember your own name. In this advanced workshop, though, we’ll take memory play to some new extremes and show you some advanced techniques for when you’ve done taking away the number 4 and are ready to move up.

Bio:

The unofficial dean of erotic hypnosis education, Mark Wiseman (Wiseguy) brings his brand of humor and fun into classes that teach anyone how to use erotic hypnosis in a way that is safe, ethical, responsible, and hot. He is also the author of the books Mind Play: A Guide to Erotic Hypnosis and The Mind Play Study Guide, the first hypnosis books written expressly for the kink community. In mundane life Wiseguy is a professional hypnotist, a teacher of professional hypnotists, and an avid woodworker.

NEDS is proud to present Stephan and sweetwisteria – Practical Magic, Practical Communication – July 12, 2019

Class description: Practical Magic, Practical Communication

“We constantly hear that good communication skills are important. Improving them can strengthen relationships, increase productivity, and reduce conflict just to name a few benefits. But if communication skills are so valuable across the board, why do we invest so little in improving them? Maybe we’re just tired of hearing generic tips like “”become a better listener.”” In this class, Stephan and SweetWisteria will delve into communication techniques they’ve used to improve their relationship. Participants will leave with tangible next steps to improving their communication skills within their relationships.”

Bios:

Stephan and sweetwisteria have been in an M/s dynamic for nearly 5 years exploring what power and authority exchange mean to them and how they can help teach others to explore power exchange. Together they enjoy educating on a myriad of subjects around the M/s dynamic, service, formal dining, etiquette, and many other subjects. They also live in a poly household with six adults, two cats and a dog, adding to the complexity of their M/s and service to both a person and a house.

NEDS is proud to present ThePhenix – Baby one more time…pain processing – June 14, 2019

Class description: Baby one more time…

Since entering the lifestyle and learning I was a masochist I started researching how to process pain, so I can feel more pain. I came to learn there are three types of play that I need to be able to process: the planned scenes, the sudden attacks, and the long-held pains. Each one had different characteristics and ways to process. I found most research addressed the planned scene. As a researcher I kept digging and adapted what I found and practiced developing tips and techniques I can use to process pain in all three types of play. This course is a practical lesson combining everything I have found and practiced over the years on the topic of pain processing.

‘Reflexology is an ancient natural therapy based on the principle that certain parts of the body, such as the feet, hands and ears, reflect the whole body like a map in miniature. These parts of the body are comprised of so-called “reflex points”, which relate to all organs, glands and body parts. The reflex points respond to pressure and touch, having a relaxing and balancing effect on the whole organism, and promoting health by stimulating the body’s own natural healing process.’
