Make day to day decisions for the club

Responsible for all financial concerns of the club
Report Financial Statement to the Service Board
Deposit income
Pay the clubs bills
Seeks approval by the board of major expenditures
On RSVP events, works with Membership to insure proper billings
Create RSVP list and communicate to proper personnel
Secretary
Take minutes of all Service Board meetings
Distribute minutes within 2 weeks after the meeting
Coordinate correspondence between service board members
Send out reminders and follow-up
Email Agenda 48 hours prior to meeting
Coordinate details for events
Respond to inquiries regarding NE-DS
SERVICE BOARD (the current configuration):
Director of Education
Coordinate contract with class venue
Confirm with venue 48-72 hours in advance of class
Train orientation volunteers
Supervise Class Coordinator: schedule classes at least 3 months in advance
Communicate class descriptions and presenter bio to Web Master and Director of Communication for postings
Network with other groups to coordinate educators and topics
Seek out new venues
Work toward sharing of resources
Director or Class Coordinator should run the class:
Make sure proper NE-DS support personnel are at class (snack, orientation, etc)
Introduce President for NE-DS updates
Introduce presenter with bio
Give 5 or 10 minute break warning
Announce break time and dinner signup
At end of class thank presenter and wrap up
Director of Communication
Responsible for all external communication
Present class descriptions and presenter bios to ‘Yahoo’ groups
Cross post class and event items with other groups
Responsible to keep calendars updated
Responsible to keep the web site up to date
Director of Events
Responsible for all non-class events
Send info to Communications to get posted
Get group rate (if possible)
Schedule newbie parties and socials
Coordinate with host of social
Make sure proper NE-DS personnel are attending.

Schedule DM’s for Socials
Review and make recommendations on orientations (safety issues)
Train other DM’s – this training should be documented
Set up (with class coordinator) CPR and first-aid classes
Responsible for NE-DS medical box, and ensure it is at each social
Legal Advisor
Must be knowledgeable of law
Provides advice to the club on any legal matter
Responsible to file state forms and keep the club current re: incorporation
Webmaster
Responsible for tailoring and maintaining the NE-DS web site
Bring up and down RSVP for the various events
Receive info from various NE-DS personnel for the web
Keep calendar and schedule of events up to date
Report web activity at Service Board meeting
Membership Coordinator
Must be a member in good standing for at least one year (dealing with confidential material)
Process new members
Send out ‘welcome’ letters
Invite the new members to join the members Yahoo group
Approve new members who join the members group
Send out ‘expired’ membership notices
Remove non-members from the members Yahoo group
Process membership renewals
Work with Treasurer for credit card transactions
Supply membership list when needed
Report membership activities at Service Board meeting
Responsible for manning door at classes

Chat Moderator
Set up chat schedule (e.g. every Tuesday at 8pm)
Create chat subjects
Keep chat friendly and on topic. Try to keep out of the conversations
Orientation (several)
Commit to attend events when orientation is given (classes and newbie parties)
Keep track of attendees
Ideally should be M/F and/or D/s, but not a couple
Follow outline
Keep personal references to a minimum
Yahoo group Moderator (several)

Use NE-DS moderator group to communicate with other NE-DS moderators

Keep calendars up to date (announcement, members and web site)
