Erotic Photography
Presented by: RopeRider
Friday Nov 13, 2009 Location in Waltham: 7:30 – 9:30 PM
In this workshop, we'll explore the elements that make a good erotic photograph. We'll cover the basics of light, camera operation, studio setup, and working with models. More importantly, though, we'll turn our attention inwards, listening to our own erotic voice. The topics we cover matter to both seasoned studio photographers and bedroom beginners.
The difference between a snapshot and a photograph that "feels good" lies at the intersection of four things. The first two (borrowing terms from Buddhist teachings) are Right Light and Right Equipment. Attend the workshop to learn about the other two. Bring questions, desires, and an open mind.
A little bit about our presenter: RopeRider
Many of us know RopeRider as the organizer of the Bound In Boston events but probably don't know about him as a photographer and artist. This part of him is best told in his own words.
"Many of my images come to me just before I fall asleep. The good ones, I feel them in the pit of my stomach. I take them to sleep with me, into my dreams. I take them in my car, take them to play in the dark spaces between my thoughts. When they have grown to being life-sized, breathing hot in my face, I bring them to through my studio and out into the world.
I'm good with light, I'm good with a camera, and I'm good with people. But I really have no other relevant qualifications except these: I have committed to listening to my inner erotic songs, and I've become practiced at giving in to the things that turn me on."
